Do gray hairs require specific care?
Yes — that is the entire purpose of GRIS. A white hair is not simply a damaged hair: it is a fiber whose physiology is evolving. With the progressive decrease in melanin, known as canities, the hair loses some of its natural protection. It often becomes more porous, drier, more prone to frizz, and less luminous.
Standard hair care, generally designed to repair breakage, does not always address these specific needs. Every GRIS white hair care product works on hydration, the surface quality of the fiber, and scalp comfort, to sustainably preserve the suppleness and radiance of gray and white hair.
Why do we get white hair, sometimes at a young age?
The appearance of white hair, or canities, corresponds to a gradual decrease in melanin, the pigment produced at the hair root. This natural phenomenon is largely determined by genetics: some people see their first white hairs appear at 20 or 30, while others discover them much later. Oxidative stress, diet, and certain environmental factors can also contribute to it.
Having white or gray hair at a young age is therefore perfectly natural. GRIS does not seek to hide this evolution, but to take care of it by preserving the quality, shine, and beauty of gray and white hair, at any age.
Who is the GRIS routine for?
The GRIS routine accompanies you at every stage of your hair's whitening process. We have designed our different ranges in three stages specific to gray and white hair. Our first range helps delay the appearance of the first gray hairs. Our second range supports the transition to natural gray. Our third range enhances white and gray hair.
Whether your first gray hairs appear at 30 or 60, whether you are in the midst of a transition, embracing a salt-and-pepper style, or your hair is already completely white, the routine adapts to your hair fiber and your needs at the moment. GRIS imposes no standards: the brand takes care of your choice.
How do I know which routine is right for me?
Our hair diagnostic helps you identify the routine best suited to your hair fiber and goals in just a few minutes. Simply answer a few questions about the condition of your hair, your scalp, and your priorities to receive your complete profile, along with personalized recommendations.
Are GRIS products healthy?
Yes. Our formulas dedicated to gray and white hair contain 97% ingredients of natural origin. They are sulfate-free, paraben-free, and silicone-free.
The gentle cleansing base of our shampoos for white hair cleanses without damaging a fiber that is naturally more porous and fragile. It also helps to preserve its moisture balance, suppleness, and comfort.
Are GRIS products vegan?
Yes. All GRIS products are vegan and do not contain any ingredients of animal origin. They are not tested on animals.
What assets are used by GRIS?
The four GRIS treatments are based on a common foundation of biomimetic active ingredients selected to meet the needs of gray and white hair fibers.
Low molecular weight hyaluronic acid helps to hydrate the hair over the long term. The GR Nutripeptide supports the fiber's structure and helps improve its resistance, suppleness, and surface quality. The Prodew 500 complex, composed of amino acids, reinforces hydration while improving feel and shine.
GRIS also takes care of the scalp thanks to KeraScalp®, which helps preserve the follicular ecosystem. Finally, the Anti-Yellowing Purple Shampoo contains high-precision purple pigments to neutralize unwanted yellow tones.
How are GRIS products better suited for gray and white hair than those from other brands?
Because they were designed from the start to address the specific changes associated with graying. Gray or white hair is not just hair that needs anti-yellowing treatment: as melanin decreases, the fiber tends to become more porous, drier, less supple, and more prone to frizz.
While many product lines focus primarily on correcting yellow undertones, GRIS offers a holistic approach. Its treatments work on hydration, surface quality, and fiber strength, while also caring for the scalp. Their foundation of biomimetic active ingredients includes hyaluronic acid, amino acids, Nutripeptide GR, and KeraScalp®. A routine specifically designed to durably preserve the softness, comfort, and radiance of gray and white hair.
Does Purple Shampoo color white hair?
No. The Purple Anti-Yellowing Shampoo is neither a coloring shampoo for white hair nor a shampoo that permanently colors white hair. It works through chromatic neutralization.
Since purple is the complementary color of yellow, its pigments visually correct unwanted yellow undertones and revive the brightness of white hair. The pigments are temporarily deposited on the surface of the fiber, without permanently altering its color.
This anti-yellowing shampoo, also sought after as an anti-brassiness shampoo, offers a visible before/after result as soon as it is rinsed out. Sulfate-free, it corrects undertones while maintaining the fiber's hydration. It should be used once or twice a week, alternating with the Hydrating Care Shampoo.
Should you choose a purple shampoo or a blue shampoo for gray and white hair?
For grey and white hair, purple shampoo is generally the most suitable. It neutralizes the yellow tones that white hair fibers can develop due to pollution, UV rays, hard water, or certain heating appliances.
Blue shampoo instead targets orange or brassy tones, which are more common in brown, highlighted, or bleached hair. This is why GRIS has developed a sulfate-free purple shampoo with high-precision pigments, specifically designed for grey and white hair.
Can GRIS skincare be used daily?
Each treatment has its own frequency of use.
The Leave-In Day Treatment is designed for daily use, on dry or damp hair. It helps maintain hydration and protect the hair fiber throughout the day.
The Moisturizing Care Shampoo and Nourishing Conditioner should be used about twice a week, depending on your washing schedule. The Purple Anti-Yellowing Shampoo should be used once or twice a week, alternating with the moisturizing shampoo.
The key is not to increase the number of steps, but to build a simple routine that is adapted to your hair and pleasant to follow over time.
